better lighting on the castle
differnt angle

there are 5 pictures in all if you would to get a better idea of size and shape.

i had spent three weeks in blegium
two of those weeks, i spent carving a massive castle
most of the time it was me and another australian carver
however, we did have anywhere from 2 to 4 people on the pile
i worked alot on the towers, windows and roof tiles
doing much detail work
im proud to say the gate is totally mine ^_^

anyways.
Material: Just sand and water
Tools: anything from a shovel, to masonary trowel, to a brush.

Sand Castle 2 by ~Suzuko42 I didn't know you could do this with just sand. I am amazed, as you should be too! (Suggested by =EnigmaticEmpress and Featured by `dedredhed)

That's the best sand castle I have ever seen in my life! The detail on the rocks and pathway at the bottom are great.

Wow, that takes real talent. The best sand castles I make are piles of sand..then they get swept away by the waves. Beautiful work.

Sweet! That is one impressive sand castle.
:iconsuzuko42:
it was more of a group effort
a guy from australia and i were sometimes the only ones working
but other times we would have one or two more people with us
i can claim the gate for myself however ^_^

its like carving very soft stone

but there is a method to packing and compacting it which makes it quite hard
not hard enough to stand on an edge, but enough to stay up.
we only add water to the sand while compacting
but for projects like this,
use heavy duty thumper thingies to pound

i like to call it magic
especially after it stay up in a very big storm....
